According to Kenyan law, informal schools that meet a set of criteria can receive public funds. Many of the schools in Kibera meet the criteria but have not received the funds. The informal school network is looking to leverage Map Kibera to make an activism website that identifies the exact location and characteristics of all the schools that meet the public funding criteria but have not received the funds (@mapkibera)

Help People in Kibera Find the Resources in Their Backyard through SMS
Map Kibera is already mapping assets of the slum community. People who live there should be able to query the MK database thru SMS and find out where to go for medical help and other needed services. Local service providers could then also register the phone #s that query so they can send out relevant info.
