Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson has said his rescheduled wedding dresses will not take place in Sacramento.
Johnson made the remark Wednesday during his regular "Midweek With the Mayor" interview with KFBK's Kitty O'Neal.
Johnson and fiancee Michelle Rhee, chancellor of Washington, D.C., schools, had planned a Sept. 4 wedding at St. John's Lutheran Church in downtown Sacramento. A dinner-dance was to follow at the Arden Oaks mansion of Sacramento developer and Johnson friend-supporter Angelo Tsakopoulos.
The couple e-mailed their 200 guests earlier this week to tell them that a downsized Angelo Wedding Dresses will take place on a different day at a different location.
"It won't happen in Sacramento," Johnson said in the interview. "We haven't decided when and where."
Johnson took some heat in recent weeks for having his wedding reception at the home of one of the city's most powerful and influential developers.
